Dear Right Angle Member:

RIGHT   ANGLE   CLUB   AUGUST  SPEAKER   SCHEDULE

August 3 –  Walton Van Winkle

The title of what promises to be a fascinating talk is “Peg Leg versus Big Belly; the story of the Dutch and Swedish rivalry along the South and Delaware rivers.”.

Walton (Owner of Van Winkle Trade (import/export) has become (self-appointed) historian of the Philadelphia “gentlemen’s clubs” scene. Some presentation information comes from a previous issue of “Philadelphia Reflections.” Much of his talk comes from recently discovered and translated documents, which shed much light on obscure moments in our history

August 10 –  George Fisher, M.D. (our very own)

“Military law and how it led to Guantanemo”

August 17 –  Thomas Williams  (our very own)

“Travels in Aveyron – ‘The Wild West of France'”

August 24  – David Richards, M.D. (our very own)

“What Price Honor and Glory; The story of  Stephen Decatur and Thomas Baron” The story contains elements of heroism, envy, hate and destruction – with Philadelphia connections.

August 31 –  No Meeting

IN RECOGNITION OF LABOR DAY (the following Monday).

 Cheers,

Neale Bringhurst
